Dr. Andreas Kamlot completed his general surgery residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, and his cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. He is board-certified in general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery. Dr. Kamlot specializes in adult cardiac surgery and minimally-invasive cardiac surgery including valve repair and atrial fibrillation surgery, as well as the treatment of vascular disorders, including interventions for peripheral arterial disease and dialysis access.

Daniel Ochalek, MD

Dr. Daniel Ochalek is Board Certified in General Surgery and enjoys the broad spectrum of expertise that this specialty represents. Prior to his arrival in our community, he was in practice in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for 20 years with extensive experience in surgery for benign and malignant breast lesions and gastrointestinal surgery involving stomach, gall bladder, small bowel and colorectal pathology. He has special interest in robotic surgery including treatment of inguinal and ventral hernias. Additional areas of expertise include thyroid and parathyroid surgery, the management of burns including skin grafting and anterior spine exposure for spinal fusion.

Dr. Jatinder Dhillon completed his general surgery residency at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu, his cardiothoracic surgery residency at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque and his fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at Beth Israel Hospital, Harvard Medical School. He is board-certified in general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery, and serves as the Co-Director of cardiac surgery for John Muir Health. Dr. Dhillon specializes in vascular surgery, thoracic surgery and adult cardiac surgery, with special interest in varicose vein treatment.

Louis A. Ivey III, MD

Dr. Louis A. Ivey, III received a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in Biochemical Sciences from Princeton University in 1980. He received his Medical Degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in1984. He completed an internship and residency in General Surgery at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital, an affiliate of Columbia University in 1989. He served in combat with the United States Navy in the first Persian Gulf War and in Mogadishu Somalia during Operation Restore Hope. Upon completing his Naval obligation, he served 26 years with the Permanente Medical group in Hayward, San Leandro, and Fremont. He has a certificate in Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and currently works in the Advanced Wound Care Center at the San Ramon Regional Medical Center. He is Board Certified in General surgery and a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Michael Gottlieb attended medical school at the University of Southern California School of Medicine in Los Angeles. He completed his General Surgery residency and his Colon and Rectal Surgery fellowship at the Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center. He achieved board certification in general surgery and colon and rectal surgery. Dr. Gottlieb specializes in laparoscopic/minimally-invasive abdominal surgery, cancer surgery, and colorectal diseases. He is Chairman of the Department of Surgery at San Ramon Regional Medical Center.

Niren Angle, MD

Dr. Niren Angle attended medical school at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago. Following this, he trained in General Surgery at UC San Diego, under Dr. A.R. Moossa as chairman, for a total of seven years, two of which were spent as a Research Fellow in the Shock and Trauma Immunology Laboratory. Following his General Surgery residency, he went on to fellowship training at UCLA in Vascular Surgery for two years. Dr. Angle then went on to become Chief of Vascular & Endovascular Surgery at UCSD and the Director of the Vascular Ultrasound laboratory till 2010. He is extensively published and speaks nationally and internationally. His expertise is in complex open, as well as complex endovascular therapy, in all areas of vascular disease. He has special interest in peripheral arterial disease and limb salvage, in carotid disease and stroke, and in aortic disease, including aneurysms of the thoracoabdominal aorta.

Paul Wotowic, MD

Dr. Paul Wotowic is a native of Chicago (Logan Square) and a graduate of the McCormick School of Engineering at Northwestern University where he studied Material Science/Chemical Engineering and minored in Literature. He attended medical school at Tulane University and continued his post-graduate residency training in general surgery at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. This was followed by specialty training in Ear, Nose and Throat, Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Illinois-Cook County Hospital in Chicago. He pursued further training at Yale University where he served as an instructor during his last year as chief resident. Following Yale, he came to California to start a solo private practice in the San Francisco – Tri-Valley Area and San Ramon. He has active staff privileges at John Muir and San Ramon Regional Medical Center where he served in leadership positions as Chief of Surgery and two terms as Chief of Staff. His training and practice reflects the full spectrum of plastic surgery including cosmetic, reconstructive, and nuanced areas of pediatric plastic surgery and facial reconstruction. He is board certified in both plastic surgery and otolaryngology, head and neck surgery and has served on numerous committees for professional societies and is an interviewer for the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Srinivas Ramachandra graduated from Bangalore University Medical College in 1973. He completed his general surgery residency and vascular surgery fellowship at Hahnemann University (Drexel University) in Philadelphia in 1982. He was a staff surgeon, Chief of Surgery and Chair of the Chief of Vascular Surgery at Kaiser Permanente until 2013. He joined East Bay Cardiovascular and Thoracic Associates in 2013.

After completing a double major undergraduate degree in Cell Biology and French Literature at UC Berkeley, Dr. Sumana Jothi completed medical school at UC San Francisco School of Medicine. She then went on to complete her internship in General Surgery at Stanford University Hospital and Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose and Throat) residency in UC San Diego. She returned to UCSF to complete her fellowship training in Otolaryngology at the UCSF Voice and Swallowing Center. She is an Assistant Clinical Professor of the Otolaryngology Department at UCSF, and teaches at the San Francisco VA Medical Center. She also practices at the Northern California Health system VA in Martinez, CA.

Tanveer Khan, MD

Dr. Tanveer Khan completed his general surgery residency at Harvard Medical School and his cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles. He also completed an endovascular fellowship at Stanford University School of Medicine and a Transplant and Adult Cardiac Surgery Fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles. He is board-certified in general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery. Dr. Khan specializes in adult cardiovascular surgery and endovascular surgery including minimally-invasive cardiac surgery, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), aortic stent grafts and interventions for PAD.

Dr. Michael Peterson

Dr. Michael Peterson

Michael Blair Peterson is a native of California and graduated from the UC Davis Medical School in 1980, and completed his surgical residency at the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento in 1985. He worked as a cardiovascular assistant for the Sacramento Cardiovascular Surgeons for 2 years and then went to work for Kaiser Medical Center and The Permanente Medical Group in 1987. During that time in Hayward and later San Leandro Kaiser he did general, vascular, thoracic surgery, ICU care and nursing education. He was also an Electronic Medical Record trainer for Northern California Kaiser and Kaiser Hawaii during this time. He retired from Kaiser in 2020 and shortly afterwards began working for East Bay Cardiovascular and Thoracic Associates. He also works at the San Ramon Regional Medical Center Advanced Wound Care Center.

His surgical interests are dialysis access, varicose veins, lymphedema and wound care, and general vascular consulting and diagnosis. He also participates in medical missions to Cambodia (Surgeons for Cambodia) and Mexico whenever he can.
